Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme
The Armed Forces Covenant?
The Covenant of the Armed Forces is an honorary oath of the nation to those who protect it. It is a recognition and understanding that everyone who has served and continue to serve in the Armed Forces should be treated with respect and fairness around the nation.
The Covenant is designed to help current and former members of the Armed Forces find the same access to commercial and government services as any other citizen. Its scope covers a variety of areas, including education, family well-being, access to health care, housing, financial assistance, discounted services, and more.
The Employer Recognition Scheme recognises employers who have provided exceptional support to the armed forces and defence community by going above and beyond their contractual obligations. The programme recognises various levels of commitment in companies across the country, using a three-tiered award system of bronze, silver and gold. It provides an opportunity for the Department of Defence to publicly thank and honour these organisations for their continued support
